Heh! I love it 🙂 I remember another story, I think it was called “Gloria’s Ordeal”–she gets so angry at one point, they even had her cursing in one of the frames if I recall!

Gloria simply doesn’t realize she’s Richie’s beard. Richie has to give her lots of gifts because he needs to publicly display that he is attracted to girls since he actually isn’t, and is deep in the the closet because his arch-conservative father Richard Rich would have him sent away for conversion therapy if he found out about Richie’s orientation. Gloria needs to understand that she’s providing a service and deserves the compensation.
What if Reggie Van Dough sends Gloria a lot of expensive gifts saying it’s from Richie Rich? (But later Gloria finds out it was really from Reggie)
Oooh, that would make her even madder! There is a similar story to that in one of the newer reboot issues. I will look for it and try to post soon.
I’ll bet when she finds out, she’ll even tell his dad that Reggie’s responsible. Reggie’s dad will hide in an empty gift box pretending to be a gift for Gloria (with a label “from Richie Rich”) and have Reggie be the first look inside that present. What do you think of that?

True although Richie might hear that and construct some giant Gloria Glad Gardens for underprivileged children. 🤣
I think that this was just a phase. Though not shown, clearly Gloria eventually understood what was really happening and made up with Richie. That is the way it always works.
You are correct. I am ashamed to say that when I was a kid in the late 70s I read every Richie Rich comic in existence at that time. At first Gloria is suspicious and wary of Richie, thinking he is a spoiled rich kid who is out to use his wealth to impress her. Later she witnesses Richie being generous to people without being aware she is watching, so she surmises that he doesn’t throw his money around to impress her after all, and is in fact a genuinely generous person. Keep in mind that this is fiction!
