Adventures with Cadbury’s ex-bosses and more exploring the mansion!

In my last post I said I hoped to find the Cadbury/Ruddy Blighter story and wouldn’t you know, the very next day I pulled out a digest and there it was! And I thought it would be so funny to post the day after I said I would look for it and now here we are months later. Whoops! But, I also found another ex-boss of Cadbury so now we have two for the price of one. Plus, I found a bunch of exploring the mansion stories that were new to me so that makes me giddy!

First up, Cadbury and Ruddy Blighter. I apologize for the poor quality, I always go back and add higher quality versions of stories as I find them, but for the moment this is just my yellowing digests!

Swooooon…..Cadbury kicking that boulder/juggernaut! So many great lines in this, “Do appear to be fit, old fellow!” “Dash it all, old fruit!”

And now we head to a female boss of Cadbury! No love connection here, however…

Punching and kicking my Cadbury!!!! That will not do! I would happily engage in a bout of fisticuffs with this rawther uncivilized woman. And why no apology Richie? You brain Cadbury with a door and just say, “I didn’t know you were standing there?” You also need to apologize!

Yet another Richie invention that came to fruition, those finders and receivers are the precursor to laser tag guns. Such an amazing house!

And now for some dear sweet baby face Richie, I looooove how he looks in these old comics! And trigger warning, there’s a quarantine involved so if you’ve had enough of virus-related things, you may want to skip this one.

So sweet! There’s no place like home. It does make me a bit sad to see how happy Richie was having other kids to play with at the mansion. He is a lonely little rich boy, even stupid Reggie got a sister, but Richie had no one. I guess Dollar and Cadbury do eventually come along to be his besties, but glad he got this brother time with Freckles and Peewee.

It’s Cadbury time! Starring Lord Helpus, Robot Richie, and a roast chicken wearing a derby!

And now it’s Cadbury time! Cadbury has always seemed to be a James Bond type fellow trapped as Richie’s babysitter, but after reading his earlier adventures as butler to Lord Helpus, it makes sense he might enjoy the quieter life in the mansion.

Strange, I always thought the Cadbury’s past stories revolved around Sir Rudy Blighter, I didn’t remember Lord Helpus at all. And I am still searching for the Rudy Blighter stories, I know they will turn up.

And now to one of my favorites, Cadbury always takes such initiative and is so thorough and dependable! And cute, as is this story…

That is storytelling at its finest! Although, a bit silly that the Riches would ever need insurance when there is just soooo…much…money…everywhere on this estate! And yes, of course I have to make my usual comment, “Where are the estate guards??? How is this salesman allowed to just walk up to Richie??” Protect the young lad someone!!!

Now we go to the non-handsomely drawn version of Cadbury, but I do appreciate a robot story so enjoy!

Seems odd that the richest man in the world would be selling statues personally in his free time. Perhaps the statue could carry Cadbury straight to me!

Cadbury is a hippie? And finally some Dollar stories!

I have been Slackey McSlackerson with this poor little rich blog and with Comic-con virtual this year, I wasn’t even inspired to do my once a year “I’m going to Comic-con” post! But, a lovely reader asked yesterday if I had any Dollar stories so I searched the blog and discovered I have only posted ONE Dollar story! I hang my head in shame!

I went on a mission this morning to find some Dollar and on my search I found this amazing Cadbury story! And you know I love me some Cadbury..

I love them saying Freaky! And I love Cadbury’s outfit! And Nurse Jenny, who knew she was a secret hottie? She should have kept the long hair, perhaps she could have attracted Cadbury’s eye.

I looked up what “immies” means, it is apparently a type of marble so Cadbury is just saying “lost their marbles”. Which reminds me of a funny Regina story where Richard thinks she is going crazy because someone tells him she’s “lost her marbles”, but she legitimately loses Richie’s marbles, and then they say she has “bats in the belfry”, but she legit is knocking bats out of the belfry with a broom. Looks like I have more research to do to find that story! And now back to Dollar…

I asked myself why I haven’t posted much with Dollar and I think I was so annoyed by the cartoon Dollar who always acted like a complete idiot that it poisoned my view of good ol’ comic book Dollar who is smart and capable and like a dog version of Cadbury. Which segues perfectly to this story:

And now to another fun switcheroo Dollar story, what if Richie were the pet?

It never ceases to amaze/annoy me that any crook at any time can just wander into the Rich mansion. Where are the estate police? Why don’t they lock the front door and windows? And why even enter the house, there is money literally blowing around from the money laundry conveyor belt or exploding from overfilled vaults all over the estate. Just scale the wall, hold out a sack with a dollar sign on it, thousands will blow into your sack and you’re out, no cops or dog bites required.

And now, one more Dollar story for the day, poor Dollar gets his little heart broken, but it all ends well!

Aw, back together again and the play was twice as dramatic! I must say the farmer/Texan person was a fortune teller, how did he know about the “world situation” we are all currently going through. Prophetic indeed. Hope you enjoyed and I have gathered more stories from my morning research so I will be posting again soon. 🙂

Oh Mr. Codger! You doofus! I love how Mr. Codger is a.) named Mr. Codger and b.) just handily walks around the estate at the exact right moments.

What a snob Richie is in the beginning. “I invented a time machine.” “Yeah, that’s great and all, but I’m working on my speed of light plane, so it’s kind of a bigger deal than yours…”

Thank goodness for Cadbury, he never panics, just jumps back in time, somehow with a stretch limo and saves the day. And if they hadn’t gotten back to the time machine, I’m sure he could have easily made fire and constructed a mansion and kept Richie in the lap of luxury for most of his caveboy existence.

This one-pager below makes me smile, I love when adults don’t realize who they’re talking to and Richie gets some disrespect. Although, it clearly states the mines belong to Richie so these guys need to read!

Cadbury attends the Butler’s convention and Richie gets a forcefield

Whoops! I have been neglecting this little blog, time to get my Richie hat back on!

This doctor knew where his bread was buttered, no “lose some weight, eat better, exercise more”.

This next story is from the defunct Richie Rich app and is one of the many stories where Cadbury hangs out with other butlers. They never seem to mind that he wins every butler contest!

Wow, Mrs. Rich made some tarts all on her own? That is more shocking than Cadbury standing on his head unassisted! In interesting news, one can still employee a butler, I have never seen one in real life!

Richie Rich comics do more than just entertain us, they teach us too! The only odd thing is that the final number is wrong, I did the calculations and thought I just messed up, but this blog confirms my numbers.

Now, for a very fun story of a man who likes to clean and the butler who wishes he would bugger off!

Cadbury wearing sunglasses! That’s a sight you never see! And the mine is so white, even Richie’s shorts join in the fun.

I would think that every time you mine some coal, it would make everything black again so this would be a never ending battle to keep the cave white. But, I will admit, I really like to clean too, so I get it.

Cadbury can do anything and meet Cadbury’s family!

Whoops, I meant to post these Cadbury stories in June and just noticed that I didn’t so we’ll have two for the price of one blogs today.

First, we have a one-pager of a familiar scenario, Gloria asks Richie NOT to spend money and be extravagant, but puh-leeze girl, you know he can’t do that!

Now to my love Cadbury, I hope you love him too as I post about him quite a lot! This man can do it all! Except find an appropriate place to sit, although the man never gets to sit down so I’m not surprised he lacks sitting skills. Enjoy!

100th post! Mr. Rich says no to yes men and Prof. Keenbean invents a machine that invents anything!

This first story is very cute and brings up a problem that has always affected rich people. It’s the fact that anyone on your payroll is going to tell you what you want to hear because otherwise, you might fire them and then they don’t get paid! Honest opinions are hard to come by, but Mr. Rich finds a way…

Yiish! Richie better watch his back, Smedley will be out for revenge! I’m on board with the barber, shoe shine guy, and newspaper vendor being a bit palsy with Mr. Rich, but the elevator operator? Surely he is employed by Mr. Rich as Richard owns every building. Either way, I’m glad Mr. Rich got rid of these shysters except when needing a shoe shine. But, once these commoners get a taste of Board of Director salaries, they may become yes men too.

And now to a rather shocking development, in the two years I’ve done this blog, I am quite sure that I have yet to post a Prof. Keenbean story!! What kind of self-respecting Richie Rich blog doesn’t have some Keenbean? So, I make up for that with the ultimate invention, an invention that invents other inventions! Read on…

Cadbury remains cool under pressure, almost…

If you’ve been reading this blog for awhile, you know that I had (ok, perhaps still have) a HUGE crush on Cadbury growing up and did not care that he was a cartoon character. In my mind, he was my boyfriend/future husband. Which is why the below one-pager has special significance to me as it was the day Cadbury broke my little seven year old heart. 

That shirt! Those shoes! That blonde floozy instead of me!! Such a sad day. Thank you to Larry T. for reminding me of this tear-jerking story. 🙂
